These classes are all about fun! We play games, imagine running from giants (the teacher) and dragons, jumping over hot lava, roll, tumble and flip. We stay constantly active and focus on reinforcing respectful play, self confidence, healthy competition and joy in movement.
At this point our kids are growing and developing so much we want them to be excited about constantly exploring movement and their sense of the space around them.
These are some of the skills your kids will develop through preschool kids martial arts training:
Knowing their personal space. Kids have been developing this for years with the worlds oldest game, tag. We play a variety of different ways to help them discover a highly refined sense of the space.
How to move on the ground. Rolling, falling and tumbling is fun and natural for kids. We encourage developing flips, falls and rolls to improve physical awareness and control. The kids will also engage in playful wrestling games. All of this will make learning the defensive art of jiu jitsu natural for them when they are older.
Strength and Flexibility: We do stretching breaks when the kids need to catch their breath and work strengthening exercises into the games we play.
Hand-eye-coordination: Catching, hitting and dodging flying scarves, balls and pads.
Parents are encouraged to play when they want to. Many of these games can be played at home to have fun and reinforce what the kids learn in class.
