There are a lot of different motivations people have for beginning Jiu-Jitsu. Getting in shape, learning self defense and the desire to compete are all valid reasons to start this journey. However, what is likely to sustain our development in the long run is the community found on the mats. We are thankful for this community and excited for each new week of training, laughter and growth together.
What to expect in class?
Technique Training
Success in Jiu Jitsu comes down to leverage and timing. In each class we will practice the details of moves that allow us to succeed, even against a larger opponent.
Pressure Test Everything
Even as you learn new moves, you also learn how to counter them. We continuously work to find the weak points in our skill. Nothing is taken for granted. Everything is tested and proven. When you have deeply tested a skill, then you truly know when and how you can count on it.
Sparring
Roll against your training partners, do your best to control and catch them in a submission hold while they do the same to you. Find your weaknesses and your strengths. Refine yourself.
Take care of each other
In Jiu Jitsu, without a training community we are nothing. We find friends and training partners who will push us to develop ourselves. Even though we constantly challenge our partners we also take care of each other, always. We learn to push to our very limits while keeping our partners and ourselves safe at the same time.
Have fun
Because it’s fun. Super fun! So come check it out.
